Podcast Management

Website Redesign

This project was to help a friend who was struggling with rebranding her podcast management business. She wanted a bright, feminine feel without coming off as cartoonish. The business was also rooted in her heritage of having grown up on the Seychilles Islands so having a slight island feel and incorporating the octopus was important to her.

Client's Inspiration Boards

I began with the logo since I could use that as base for the rest of the website design.

Knowing it can be tricky to design with so many colors I still implemented the

60,40, 20 rule to keep it colorful yet classy.

60% - white
40% - split equally between 6 colors.
20% - simple black

The original logo didn't convey anything about what type of business this was so I added typography stating what the company actually does as well as a visual to be
a secondary way to convey the company's industry
.

I replaced the original octopus image with a more subtle octopus arm outline which doubles as the letter O. This was a fun way to minimize the cartoon feeling while keeping the bright colors and including the symbolism of the octopus.

To help decide what content to include and layout ideas I did a competitive audit, adopting ideas such as the portfolio gallery into this website design.

Client Testimonial

"Jessica is a breath of fresh air. I was flustered and struggling to articulate or explain what I wanted my rebrand to look like or how I wanted to present myself online. We talked and I feel like she really heard me. I love my logo and branding and it feels elevated while still being authentically me.

Her experience as a UX designer also really helped me understand how my website should flow and the importance of tone of language and the unspoken suggestions of photos. I loved working with Jessica and would warmly recommend her."    - Ineke Bakker
